Am I a good candidate for lash extensions?
Although we would love to lash every client we meet, unfortunately there are factors that prevent some from being a good candidate for the service. Any illness or medication that causes hair loss, such as a hormone imbalance or chemo treatment, will prevent us from achieving the desired results as the health of the lashes will be affected. Clients who suffer from itchy eyes or stress-picking would also not be recommended. Lastly, those with claustrophobia, extreme anxiety, back/neck pain, or trouble remaining still, are sadly not good candidates as you must lay in our recliners for up to 1-3 hours with your eyes closed and body still. If you are unsure if you are a good for for the service, please contact us for a consultation!
How do I care for my lash extensions?
In order to maintain eye health and lash fullness, it is recommended to wash your lashes 1-2 times daily after the first 24 hours after application. Dispense a dime-sized amount of Lash Bath into your palm, and use your wet Borboleta Clean Swoop Brush to swirl it into a lather. Apply to lids and gently swoop through lashes over their tops and underneath. To finish, wet your brush with water, rinse lids and lashes, and pat dry. Once complete, place your brush back into the drying stand to avoid collecting dust and bacteria.
Can I wear makeup with my lash extensions?
Yes! The trick is to ensure that you’re using lash-safe products. This typically refers to oil-free, non-waterproof cosmetics, excluding pencil/gel eyeliners, mascara, falsies, or lash curlers around eye area. To remove, use your Clean Swoop Brush with Breakdown Makeup Remover and work it over the lash line and lids. Once makeup is loosened, rinse with warm water to remove product, and work through lashes again to rinse product from eyes. Pat eyes gently with a towel to dry.
When do I need to come back for a refill?
We recommend booking your refill lash service for 2-3 weeks from your last visit. Every day, you will shed a few natural lashes with their growth cycle and new ones will grow in their place. At your appointment, we will remove any outgrown extensions and refresh your set by filling it back in to 100% fullness. If you have less than half of your extensions remaining, it is recommended to book for an extended fill or full set. If it has been less than 2 weeks and you are only in need of a quick touch-up, you may book for a mini fill.
How do I remove my lash extensions?
If you’re ready to go back to your natural lashes, you may either allow the extensions to shed with your cycle over about 6 weeks or you can schedule a professional removal. During this quick and easy service, a special cream remover is applied to the extensions and will gently dissolve the adhesive, allowing the fibers to slide right off. We do not recommend attempting an at-home removal as you may cause damage to your lashes/eyes.
